Big Bamboo: a Chinese-themed 5x6 video slot

Reels spin on a fixed 5x6 grid, and the theme brings Chinese motifs together with monkeys and a panda. The game runs 50 fixed win lines, and only the highest win on each line pays. Wins start at two matching symbols, so a round can pay even when only a pair lands on a line. Each round ends when the reels stop, and the total of all winning lines is credited.

Enough Scatter symbols on reels 2 to 4 open the Free Games Feature, where each low symbol converted to bamboo adds spins and a multiplier. A Mystery Bamboo can uncover a Golden Bamboo, which starts a respin with Instant Prize and Collector symbols. After free spins are awarded, a Gamble ladder lets you collect or risk them, and a losing rung forfeits the spins.

Big Bamboo bonuses

How do you trigger a bonus on the reels?

Read this before you hit a bonus, or when a Scatter lands on reels 2-4.

What does the conversion meter add?

Enough Scatter, BONUS and Gamble Scatter symbols on reels 2-4 start the mode. You get free spins and a right-hand Low-Symbol meter with four card-suit symbols. Each conversion of a low symbol to bamboo adds bonus spins and a multiplier. More Scatter landings retrigger spins.

When Golden shows up underneath

When a Mystery Bamboo reveal symbol uncovers a Golden Bamboo symbol underneath, the Golden Bamboo feature begins. Each Golden Bamboo position spins through Instant Prize, Multiplier, Scatter, Gamble Scatter and Collector symbols until resolved. Then Instant Prize and Collector values are summed and multiplied by the Base Bet and any landed multipliers.

Vertical prize ladder

After a Free Spins trigger, a vertical prize ladder appears with the awarded tier highlighted. You can collect the current award or gamble it for a chance at a higher ladder tier. A losing rung forfeits the free spins entirely.

When you pick Mystery Free Spins

Four purchase options share one Base Bet stepper: no low symbols converted, 2 low symbols converted, 4 low symbols converted (no gamble step offered), and Mystery Free Spins. Mystery Free Spins randomly resolves into one of the other three outcomes.

Round guide

Your first session, spin by spin

You will know each step of a round before you place the first bet.

  1. Base Bet from A$0.10

The reels wait for your Base Bet, which can go from A$0.10 up to A$100. The paytable uses A$0.40, and each win is measured against the bet you pick.

  2. 50 lines, one top win

The reels form wins on 50 fixed lines shown in the paytable. Only the highest win per line pays, and a round pays at most 50,000 times the Base Bet.

  3. Big Bamboo reveal and respin

A Mystery Bamboo reveal can uncover a Golden Bamboo, which starts a respin. Instant Prize and Collector values add up, then multiply by the Base Bet and any landed Multiplier.

  4. Big Bamboo free spins start

Enough Scatter/BONUS symbols on reels 2 to 4 start the Free Games Feature. Each full conversion of a low symbol to bamboo on the right-hand meter adds spins and a multiplier.

  5. When do you stop playing?

The reels stop after each spin, and nothing on them tells you what comes next. Set your limit before the first spin, then stop once you reach it.

Bonus timing and the top prize limit

The reels decide when the bonus round arrives, and nobody can predict that moment in advance. How often the Free Games Feature or Golden Bamboo Feature starts is not known before a session begins. The result of one session is random, and it stays random whatever the RTP version. A high RTP does not promise a bonus soon, and a long dry spell does not mean one is due.

Each spin on the reels pays back at the rate of the RTP version this site runs. Which version that is shown only in the game rules, so read them before the first spin and match the version against the RTP table on this page.

A winning round on the reels can reach 50,000 times the Base Bet, which is the win cap of this slot. That ceiling is reached very rarely, so treat it as a limit on the top prize, not as an expected result.

Big Bamboo facts

Ask what Big Bamboo pays before you spin

Short answers on RTP, demo play, maximum win, bonus buy and volatility before your first bet.

What RTP does Big Bamboo have in each version?

Big Bamboo comes in six RTP versions, from 96.13% to 96.94%. RTP is the long-run return per A$100 staked, so it describes the average over many spins. It does not predict what a single session will pay.

Can I try Big Bamboo in demo mode before betting?

Big Bamboo is played at bets from A$0.10 to A$100 a spin, so a low stake lets you watch how a round runs before you raise it. The paytable itself is shown at A$0.40, and the 50 fixed win lines are diagrammed there.

What is the maximum win on Big Bamboo?

Big Bamboo pays up to 50,000 times the Base Bet per round. At the A$1 top bet in the example, that is A$50,000. At the highest bet of A$100, the same cap reads A$5,000,000.

Can I buy the bonus in Big Bamboo and what does it cost?

Yes, Big Bamboo has four bonus buy options, priced from A$99 to A$608 at the A$1 example bet. Each one sits on a shared Base Bet stepper, and Mystery Free Spins randomly resolves into one of the other three.

How volatile is Big Bamboo?

Big Bamboo has high volatility. Wins tend to come in larger, less frequent swings, so a session can run long without a big payout and then turn quickly. How often the bonus lands cannot be known in advance.
